Mack's hybrid tractor aims to replace U.S. Army's M915 trucks
Mack Defense will display a hybrid-electric line-haul tractor prototype for the U.S. Army's Common Tactical Truck program at AUSA 2026 in Washington from October 12 to 14. The on-road design is aimed at replacing older M915 tractors while reducing fuel demand and supporting electrical power needs through a modern commercial-derived drivetrain. CTT could eventually replace about 35,000 heavy tactical vehicles across several roles, but the prototype is an industry offering for evaluation rather than an awarded production vehicle or a confirmed selection by the Army.
