Europe's MBDA to Offer Fortem DroneHunter Net Interceptors and Anti-Shahed FireThorn
MBDA and Fortem Technologies expanded their counter-drone partnership on October 12, 2026, enabling MBDA to offer DroneHunter interceptors within customers' existing air-defence networks. DroneHunter uses autonomous net capture for engagements where limiting collateral damage or recovering an intact drone is important, building on its earlier integration into SKY WARDEN. The partners will also offer their jointly developed FireThorn interceptor, which combines Fortem's radar-guided airframe with an MBDA warhead for kinetic engagements against Shahed/Geran and Orlan-type drones. The announcement establishes a joint commercial offering, subject to export approvals, rather than a named customer's procurement contract or operational deployment.
