Australian Tritons and Peregrines achieve operational milestones
The Royal Australian Air Force has declared initial operational capability for its MQ-4C Triton remotely piloted aircraft and MC-55A Peregrine intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and electronic-warfare fleet. Triton provides high-altitude, long-endurance maritime surveillance for Number 9 Squadron, while the Gulfstream-based Peregrine gives Number 10 Squadron an airborne signals and electronic-intelligence platform. IOC means both capabilities can now support assigned missions with trained personnel and sustainment in place, although further aircraft deliveries, testing, and operational integration will continue across Australia before the fleets reach full operational capability.
