US Navy evaluates MQ-9B SeaGuardian at Whidbey Island
The U.S. Navy has evaluated the General Atomics MQ-9B SeaGuardian at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island as part of an ongoing capability assessment for the U.S. Seventh Fleet. The assessment is intended to determine the viability of an unmanned aircraft as a maritime patrol and reconnaissance platform that could augment the existing Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Force. The event also brought Navy leaders and industry together to review anti-submarine-warfare tactics, techniques and procedures, without announcing a procurement decision.
