Fortastra announces USD30 million fundraise to build orbital security platform
California-based Fortastra announced a $30 million Series A financing round on October 8 to accelerate development and commissioning of spacecraft for orbital security. First In led the round, with participation from Upfront, Space Capital, Rsquared, Side Door Ventures, ATX Ventures and existing investors. The funding will expand engineering and operations teams and support autonomy and manufacturing capabilities for spacecraft intended to monitor their surroundings, interact with other vehicles and protect orbital assets. Fortastra had already raised $8 million in seed funding and received selection under the US Space Force's Adaptive and Intelligent Space Challenge.
