US Marine Stand-In Forces in the Pacific worry China, report details
A report on Chinese military analysis says the U.S. Marine Corps' Stand-In Forces concept is a significant concern for People's Liberation Army planners. Small, distributed Marine units operating inside the first island chain would combine sensors, anti-ship missiles, air defence and expeditionary logistics to complicate Chinese naval movement and targeting.
