Israel and Greece sign $3.5 billion deal for missile defense
Greece finalized a roughly €3 billion, or $3.5 billion, agreement with Israel for the multi-layer Achilles Shield air-and-missile-defense program. The planned architecture combines David’s Sling, SPYDER and BARAK MX interceptors with multi-mission radars and a national command-and-control network. A separate €26 million purchase covers Rafael’s Drone Dome counter-uncrewed-aircraft system. The package forms a major element of Greece’s wider modernization plan through 2036 and is intended to protect the country against threats ranging from small drones to ballistic missiles, including complex combined attack profiles during regional crises.
