US Marine Corps purchases 12 Mission Master SP autonomous ground vehicles from American Rheinmetall
American Rheinmetall received a $7.28 million award to deliver 12 Mission Master SP autonomous ground vehicles, five amphibious Marine Kits and supporting equipment to the U.S. Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory. Executed by the Defense Logistics Agency through prime contractor ADS, the package also covers engineering, programme management, logistics, documentation, operator training and acceptance testing. The 8x8 vehicles use Rheinmetall's PATH autonomy architecture and modular payload interfaces; the Marine Kit extends operations in littoral environments. The systems are intended for continued evaluation of autonomous logistics, expeditionary mobility and distributed operations, rather than a service-wide production fielding decision.
