BAE Systems Australia secures $32 million contract to keep Mk 45 naval guns combat-ready on Hobart destroyers and Anzac frigates
BAE Systems Australia received a five-year, $32 million contract to sustain Royal Australian Navy Mk 45 five-inch guns on Hobart-class destroyers and Anzac-class frigates. Work includes preventive, corrective and priority maintenance, with gun refurbishment aligned to the Destroyer Capability Enhancement program beginning with HMAS Hobart at Osborne. Support will be performed principally in Henderson, Western Australia, preserving local technical expertise and fleet availability under demanding deployments while establishing experience applicable to the same weapon planned for the future Hunter-class frigates.
