BAE Systems to rebuild two Mk 45 guns for U.S. Navy warships
BAE Systems received a $38.2 million US Navy modification to overhaul two Mk 45 Mod 4 naval guns at its Louisville, Kentucky, facility. The 5-inch, 62-caliber system uses digital controls and a strengthened mount to provide surface-fire support and ship self-defense, and refurbishment restores serviceable capability without buying entirely new mounts.
