US Army activates new multi-domain task force to ‘deny, disrupt’ enemies in Indo-Pacific
The U.S. Army activated its 4th Multi-Domain Task Force at Fort Carson, Colorado, on October 8, 2026, adding another formation designed for operations in the Indo-Pacific. The task force is planned to grow to about 2,100 soldiers across four battalions and combine long-range precision fires, intelligence, cyber, space, electronic warfare and command-and-control capabilities. Army leaders describe its mission as helping joint forces deny, disrupt and disaggregate adversary systems across multiple domains, with the unit aligned under the 7th Infantry Division. The activation is part of the Army’s plan to establish five Multi-Domain Task Forces by 2028.
