Raytheon Australia completes NASAMS program for Australian Army, with RTX accelerating air-defense production to meet global demand
Raytheon Australia has completed the multiyear delivery and integration program for the Australian Army's National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System. The Australian configuration combines locally produced CEA radars, Kongsberg's Fire Distribution Centre and Hawkei-mounted launchers with multispectral sensors and several interceptor options. Its supported weapons include AMRAAM, extended-range AMRAAM and AIM-9X missiles for defense against aircraft, drones and cruise missiles. Army personnel have been trained and the system is ready for operational use, while the company says it is expanding production capacity without disclosing investment amounts or output targets.
