NATO fighter shoots down drone in Lithuania
An Italian fighter assigned to NATO's Baltic Air Policing mission shot down a drone over Lithuania shortly after midnight on September 15. Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said the aircraft most probably came from Russia, while Lithuanian authorities continued investigating and a Ukrainian military source assessed images of the debris as resembling a Russian Geran-2 attack drone. The drone was destroyed near Pratkūnai in Kaunas County without reported casualties or damage. Its origin and operator had not been conclusively established when the incident was reported.
