US Navy Awards General Dynamics $49.9M for Stealth Research and Foreign Technology Studies
The U.S. Navy awarded General Dynamics Applied Physical Sciences a $49.9 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for research into maritime platform signatures and selected foreign technologies. Work includes hull treatments, measurements of acoustic and non-acoustic signatures, engineering studies, prototypes and demonstrations intended to inform naval stealth and survivability development. The contract, managed by Naval Sea Systems Command, is scheduled to run through September 2030, with approximately $3 million obligated at the time of award. The award does not identify a specific ship or submarine class as the sole recipient of the research, and it is not a procurement of operational vessels.
