Exail Unveils Neptis Maritime Surveillance System for ASW and Seabed Defense
Exail has unveiled Neptis, a maritime surveillance architecture intended to coordinate unmanned surface vessels for anti-submarine warfare, seabed security and protection of maritime infrastructure. The system combines command-and-control functions with the company's Oryx vessel family, including H-8, H-9 and O-16 configurations, and can incorporate radar, electro-optical, acoustic and other mission-specific sensors. Exail is developing a distributed approach in which vessels gather and exchange surveillance information while operators supervise operations from a common interface. The announcement describes an emerging system and planned capability expansion, not evidence that all proposed autonomous sensing and data-fusion functions have been operationally fielded.
