Shield AI Hivemind to Power Australia's OWL-B Loitering Munition
Shield AI and Innovaero signed a memorandum of understanding on October 6 to integrate Hivemind autonomy into Australia's One-Way Loitering munition family. Hivemind is already installed on OWL-B ahead of flight testing, with multi-agent strike missions being simulated and commands issued through the Android Team Awareness Kit. The software is intended to support route replanning and coordinated operation when navigation or communications are degraded, with performance still subject to flight evaluation. OWL-B is undergoing certification under Mission Talon-Strike for targeted Australian Defence Force service in 2027, while the memorandum establishes cooperation rather than a production award.
