Operation Epic Fury: U.S. struck 13,500 targets in 36,000 combat sorties during major military campaign against Iran, report says
A Defense Department inspector general report says U.S. forces struck about 13,500 targets during Operation Epic Fury, supported by roughly 36,000 combat sorties and more than 1,800 fire missions. The main campaign against Iran ran from February 28 to an April 7 ceasefire and involved over 50,000 American personnel across the Middle East. Reported targets included missile units, air defenses, command sites, naval assets, storage facilities, and defense-industrial infrastructure. The report placed costs at $33.4 billion through June 29, while noting that much of the operational and financial information had not been independently verified or audited.
