CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF WITNESSES SUCCESSFUL MAIDEN LIVE WEAPON FIRING BY PNS/M HANGOR

Pakistan’s newly inducted PNS/M Hangor has completed its first live weapon firing in the North Arabian Sea. The submarine launched an anti-ship cruise missile against a designated long-range target and achieved what the Pakistan Navy described as an accurate hit, with the Chief of the Naval Staff observing the event. The test is an important step toward operationalizing the first boat in Pakistan’s Hangor-class program, although the navy did not disclose the missile type, launch range, detailed test conditions or a timeline for full operational readiness.
