Combat-proven air defense: recent Patriot® contract awards signal surge in demand across Europe
Recent Patriot air-defense awards highlight accelerating European demand for interceptors, radars, launchers and command systems. The announced business includes a $3.7 billion award for GEM-T interceptors for Ukraine, a $627 million Dutch direct commercial sale covering a broader Patriot package, and a $988 million NATO Support and Procurement Agency order for Poland. Raytheon and MBDA Deutschland are also establishing a COMLOG production facility in Schrobenhausen to expand regional interceptor output. Together, the contracts deepen European Patriot inventories, strengthen industrial capacity and improve interoperability, though delivery schedules and national configurations will vary by customer.
