Ukraine Downs One of Two 3M22 Zircon Missiles Over Kyiv With Patriot
Ukrainian air defenses intercepted one of two Russian 3M22 Zircon missiles launched toward Kyiv during a daytime attack on October 10, 2026, according to Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat. He attributed the successful engagement to a Patriot surface-to-air missile system, while the second Zircon was not intercepted and its precise impact point was not disclosed. The wider assault involved roughly 100 Russian attack drones, most directed at Kyiv, and falling debris injured civilians in the capital's Obolonskyi district. Ukrainian officials did not identify the Patriot interceptor variant or release a detailed technical account of the engagement.
