The Pentagon awarded $350M to a firm tied to a senior DOD official
Pentagon consulting awards totaling nearly $350 million to Alvarez & Marsal Federal have drawn scrutiny over the company's links to a senior Defense Department official. Reported awards include a $67.6 million agreement from December 2025 and a roughly $281 million sole-source arrangement from June 2026, the latter connected to the department's Business Operators for National Defense initiative. The reporting examined ongoing advisory links between defense official George Kollitides and the affiliated investment business A&M Capital when the awards were signed, raising questions about potential conflicts and the use of less conventional acquisition mechanisms. The company and department have disputed suggestions of improper influence, and the reporting does not establish an adjudicated ethics violation.
