Pentagon chief set to announce additional cuts in senior officer positions
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is expected to announce a 20 percent reduction in authorized general- and flag-officer positions, two US officials said. The plan would double the minimum 10 percent reduction outlined previously and would be implemented mainly by eliminating billets or assigning some future jobs a lower rank rather than immediately dismissing every incumbent.
