US Army PrSM Increment 4: Five Firms Race for 1,000 km HIMARS Missile
The U.S. Army awarded five prototype agreements for Precision Strike Missile Increment 4 to Anduril, Castelion, Lockheed Martin, Mach Industries and RTX. Competitors are developing HIMARS-compatible weapons intended to reach at least 1,000 kilometers and attack moving maritime or relocatable land targets, with a competitive fly-off and down-selection planned for fiscal 2027. Agreement values, test-round quantities and detailed seeker and warhead specifications remain undisclosed, leaving the awards as an early technology competition rather than a commitment to purchase any particular missile design. The competition is intended to accelerate experimentation before formal acquisition.
