Protector metadata issues due to be fixed by December
Britain expects software corrections for Protector RG Mk1 sensor-data metadata issues by December. Accurate metadata links imagery and other collection to time, location and platform context, making it essential for search, exploitation, sharing and evidential confidence. The defect can therefore limit how efficiently downstream users process and exchange intelligence even if the aircraft and sensor continue collecting data. The planned fix is a technical milestone rather than a declaration of full operational capability, and it remains subject to successful integration, testing and acceptance by Defence authorities.
