RAF test autonomy projects against US Air Force architecture
The Royal Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office is assessing British autonomy projects against the U.S. Air Force’s Autonomy Government Reference Architecture to ensure future systems can exchange services and operate together. Britain’s modular PYRAMID mission-system standard has already demonstrated compatibility, providing a technical bridge between national programs. Aligning interfaces and behaviors early should reduce later integration cost for collaborative aircraft and uncrewed systems during high-intensity operations, while allowing each country to retain its own hardware and software suppliers within a common coalition operating framework.
