German startup tests RDX 1 tracked ground drone with troops
Reactive Dynamics reported initial tactical trials of its RDX 1 tracked unmanned ground vehicle with combat troops, covering supply transport, casualty evacuation and day-and-night reconnaissance. The vehicle also operated ahead of crewed platforms, with user feedback intended to guide further iterations and additional payload trials. The manufacturer specifies an electric 400-volt drivetrain, suspended rubber tracks, a 1,200 kg payload, 150 km range and 80 km/h maximum speed, but those figures were not independently demonstrated in the trial announcement. RDX 1 is currently remotely controlled, with autonomy planned through software updates, and the participating units and trial location were not identified.
