MAURIC to Design Riverine Patrol Vessels for the Bangladesh Coast Guards
French naval architecture firm MAURIC and Norway's Nordic Naval were selected to supply design studies, a design package and principal equipment for five riverine patrol vessels for the Bangladesh Coast Guard. Dockyard & Engineering Works Limited will build the 38-metre RPV 385 vessels in Bangladesh, with construction scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2026. The steel-hulled, aluminium-superstructure design is rated for 22 knots, accommodates up to 29 people for missions lasting ten days and carries a remotely operated 30 mm gun. Planned roles include territorial-water surveillance, riverine patrol and counter-trafficking operations; delivery and commissioning dates were not disclosed.
