Indra strengthens Spain’s defence autonomy with 147 tactical drones designed and manufactured domestically under the SANTAM programme
Indra will supply 147 domestically designed tactical aircraft, organized into 49 systems, under Spain's SANTAM programme. The fleet comprises the conventional TARSIS-W and vertical-take-off TARSIS-VTOL; both have a 150-kilogram maximum take-off weight, a six-metre wingspan, endurance of about ten hours and a datalink range exceeding 120 kilometres. Payloads include electro-optical/infrared sensors with laser designation and synthetic-aperture radar, while the TARSIS-W can carry light weapons; deliveries are scheduled from 2028 to 2030.
