Poland’s EYCORE says first SAR satellite imagery validates domestic radar technology for security and defence missions in orbit
Polish company EYCORE released the first synthetic-aperture-radar images from its satellite and said they validate domestic radar technology for security and defense use. The spacecraft launched on May 3, 2026, on a Falcon 9 rideshare mission and uses NanoAvionics' MP42 platform. Radar imaging can observe through cloud and darkness, supporting maritime awareness, infrastructure monitoring and intelligence tasks that optical sensors may miss. The initial imagery is a commissioning milestone; sustained image quality, revisit performance, service capacity and operational tasking still require continuing on-orbit validation successfully.
