Rafael, Lockheed Martin begin integrating SPICE 1000 precision weapon on F-35 Adir, adding strike reach beyond 120 kilometers
Rafael and Lockheed Martin have begun integrating the SPICE 1000 precision-guided weapon on Israel's F-35I Adir, adding a planned standoff attack option with a reported reach beyond 120 kilometres. The 1,000-pound-class guidance kit uses electro-optical scene matching and other navigation methods designed to support precision engagement in GPS-denied conditions. The activity is an integration programme, not confirmation that the weapon is already operational on the F-35I. Flight testing, certification and clearance work must be completed before the Israeli Air Force can employ the configuration routinely.
