Ukraine Sargan 3000 USV Destroys Russian Drone Boat in First Black Sea Unmanned Naval Battle
Ukraine’s Navy announced that a Sargan 3000 uncrewed surface vessel destroyed an unidentified Russian drone boat in the Black Sea after the target was detected by military intelligence. The Ukrainian craft used a Kongsberg Protector remote weapon station armed with a 12.7 mm machine gun, and released footage shows sustained fire followed by the target sinking. The event would represent a rare direct engagement between two naval drones and expands the Sargan’s demonstrated mission set beyond reconnaissance or attack.
