Indian Navy Eyes 1,000 km Ship-Based Loitering Munitions
The Indian Navy has requested industry information on a ship- and vehicle-launched loitering munition with a strike range exceeding 1,000 kilometres. Draft requirements call for more than nine hours of endurance, speed above 75 knots, a 15,000-foot ceiling and a modular electro-optical and infrared payload for surveillance and terminal guidance. The universal system is intended to attack land and maritime targets from ships or shore-based vehicles. This is an early market survey, not a contract, and the service has not selected a design, supplier, quantity, budget or delivery schedule.
