GM Defense Unveils Silverado UGV With 8,000-lb Payload for Army Resupply at AUSA 2026
GM Defense unveiled a Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD-based uncrewed ground vehicle at AUSA on October 12, 2026, with a stated payload capacity of 8,000 pounds. The concept incorporates 102 kWh of Ultium-based battery capacity and Scout AI's Fury autonomy, with an open architecture intended to accommodate different mission systems. GM is targeting the Army's Project Sustainment autonomous-resupply requirement and displayed the vehicle with AeroVironment's LOCUST X3 counter-drone laser as another possible payload. A technology demonstrator is planned for June 2027, but GM was outside the initial Project Sustainment prototype cohort and has no scheduled Army test delivery.
