UK seeks allies for space-based missile warning network
The United Kingdom is working with NATO allies and other partners on a future space-based missile-warning network for the Euro-Atlantic region. The concept would use persistent overhead sensors to detect, assess and track ballistic, cruise and hypersonic threats, feeding a layered integrated air-and-missile-defense architecture. Britain’s broader plan includes £790 million for command systems, radars and control infrastructure, while international development and procurement are meant to share cost, expand geographic coverage and ensure data can move quickly between allied sensors and defensive weapons.
