KONGSBERG StrikeMaster Deploys to Jan Mayen for NATO Arctic Exercise
Norway deployed the Australian-configured StrikeMaster coastal strike system to Jan Mayen for Operation Atlantic City, a Norwegian-led NATO activity under Arctic Sentry conducted from August 26 to September 4. StrikeMaster combines twin Naval Strike Missile launchers with a Thales Australia Bushmaster protected vehicle, allowing expeditionary anti-ship fires to be transported and dispersed ashore; Royal Air Force A400M airlift supported the deployment. The Norway–United States–United Kingdom exercise tested sensors, command-and-control, sustainment, and sea-denial operations in harsh Arctic conditions, building on an earlier Norwegian live firing rather than announcing a new acquisition.
