Russia keeps building Su-34 fighter-bombers despite Ukraine war
A newly manufactured Su-34 fighter-bomber in factory primer was photographed at the Viva Avia festival at Mochishche Aerodrome near Novosibirsk on August 1–2, 2026. The aircraft came from the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant, part of United Aircraft Corporation and Russia's sole Su-34 production site. Available production figures indicate that the Russian Aerospace Forces had received 212 Su-34s by early 2026, including seven prototypes or pre-production aircraft, after deliveries of 16 in 2024 and 18 in 2025. The sighting indicates continued output despite sanctions and wartime use of the type over Ukraine.
