Saab builds T-7A Red Hawk fuselages in Indiana for planned 350-aircraft fleet set to train more than 1,000 U.S. Air Force pilots annually
Saab is producing the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force’s T-7A Red Hawk at its West Lafayette, Indiana, facility while Boeing completes final assembly and overall program integration. The service plans a fleet of 350 aircraft to replace the T-38 and train more than 1,000 pilots annually. Modern avionics, embedded instruction and a digitally engineered production system are intended to better prepare crews for advanced fighters and bombers, while the Indiana work establishes a domestic manufacturing base for Saab’s portion of the program.
