TKMS, Navantia move towards joint submarine framework by year-end to expand capacity and compete for future global naval orders
Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and Navantia are working towards a joint submarine industrial framework to be formalised by end of 2026. The partnership aims to combine German and Spanish submarine expertise and expand combined production capacity. The initiative positions the two companies to compete jointly for large international submarine programmes including the Canadian SSP and potential NATO partner orders. A formal framework agreement would be a significant consolidation in the European naval defence industry.
