Taiwan combines HIMARS rocket launchers, drones and missiles in China-focused anti-invasion drill
Taiwan combined HIMARS launchers, drones, and missile units in an anti-invasion exercise focused on countering Chinese forces approaching the island. The drill tested how reconnaissance assets could identify targets and pass data to dispersed long-range fires within a compressed decision cycle. Integrating different sensors and weapons improves survivability and creates multiple dilemmas for an attacker, especially when units relocate after firing. Exercise performance does not guarantee wartime effectiveness, which will depend on resilient communications, ammunition depth, deception, trained crews, and the ability to operate despite cyber, electronic, and physical attack.
