Turkey says it could help meet Saudi military needs under defence pact
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Ankara is ready to meet Saudi Arabia's technical military needs after intensified Houthi attacks on Saudi territory and infrastructure. The offer rests on the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, signed by Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, which treats an armed attack on one member as an attack on all three. Fidan did not identify requested equipment, deployments, or a timetable, and Pakistan said no joint military response had been discussed. Turkey also presented proposals aimed at ending the fighting and emphasized that the trilateral pact does not replace members' existing alliances.
