New Launcher Spotted Aboard Royal Navy Type 45 Destroyer
UK Ministry of Defence photographs show two unidentified box-like installations aboard Type 45 destroyer HMS Dauntless, interpreted as possible counter-drone interceptor launchers. The containers sit on opposite sides of the ship's main communications mast and were visible during an October 10 exercise with five Ukrainian minehunters off the Isle of Wight. Dauntless is preparing to escort HMS Prince of Wales during the resumed Firecrest deployment to the High North, providing context for the apparent trial installation. The equipment's manufacturer, interceptor type and operational status have not been confirmed, so the photographs establish the new fit without proving its specific capability.
