UK imposes fresh sanctions targeting Russian ships and entities
The United Kingdom imposed sanctions on 23 individuals and entities and eight vessels linked to Russia. The maritime designations cover three alleged shadow-fleet ships, two vessels accused of providing bunkering support, and three Russian-owned ice-class vessels. Other measures target revenue networks, alleged disinformation activity, and people accused of involvement in the deportation of Ukrainian children. The package freezes relevant UK assets and restricts dealings under British jurisdiction, but its practical effect will depend on international coordination, ownership tracing, port access, insurance, and enforcement against frequently changing shipping structures.
