RAF launches UK's largest homeland defence test with Typhoon, F-35, P-8A and Voyager aircraft alongside NATO allied forces
The Royal Air Force began its largest homeland air-defence exercise, bringing Typhoon, F-35, P-8A Poseidon, and Voyager aircraft together with NATO participants for nearly three weeks. The activity tests surveillance, command and control, interception, refuelling, and the coordination required to defend British airspace under sustained pressure. Including maritime patrol and tanker aircraft broadens the scenario beyond fighter engagements and stresses the supporting network. The exercise is designed to expose readiness gaps and validate allied procedures; it is a training event, not a response to a specific attack.
