U.S. Army rebuilds long-range missile stocks drained by the war on Iran
The U.S. Army awarded Lockheed Martin a $1.21 billion contract to continue work on an upgraded Precision Strike Missile variant as the service rebuilds long-range stocks consumed during the Iran war. The conflict reportedly exhausted nearly the entire global inventory of Army Tactical Missile System weapons, intensifying demand for replacement production and newer missiles. The award supports the shift to PrSM, which offers longer-range precision fires from existing launchers, but replenishment will depend on manufacturing throughput, component availability, testing, and future appropriations rather than occurring immediately.
