Miller Tapped to Head SPACECOM, Oversee Move To Huntsville
The White House nominated Space Force Lieutenant General David Miller for promotion to general and command of U.S. Space Command, succeeding General Stephen Whiting if confirmed by the Senate. Miller currently serves as deputy chief of space operations for strategy, plans, programs and requirements, giving him a central role in force design and investment decisions. As commander, he would oversee military space operations and the planned headquarters move from Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. The relocation remains politically contested and operationally complex to execute.
