U.S. Marine Corps accepts first prototype of Australian-designed surface craft to close Pacific logistics gap at remote shorelines

The U.S. Marine Corps has accepted the first prototype of an Australian-designed Ancillary Surface Craft intended to support logistics operations at remote shorelines across the Indo-Pacific. The craft is designed to operate from amphibious ships and deliver supplies and personnel to beaches without established port infrastructure. Acceptance of the first prototype initiates operational evaluation ahead of potential series production. The vessel supports the Marine Corps' Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations concept for distributed maritime operations.
