USS Gerald R. Ford has entered Norfolk Naval Shipyard for its first major maintenance period. This follows an extensive operational deployment. Work will address EMALS, AAG, and structural sustainment. The overhaul is a milestone in validating the Ford-class carrier's life-cycle plan.
