Austal USA received a $10.8 million Navy contract to replace a diesel generator aboard the Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Oakland. The work will use the company's new 9,000-light-ton floating dry dock in San Diego, expanding its ability to perform West Coast maintenance on larger naval vessels.
