Ukraine streamlines permits for foreign service members
Ukraine has issued guidance to simplify temporary-residence permits for foreign nationals and stateless people serving under military contracts. Commanders or designated officers can verify lawful stay, prepare unit-issued documents, check the application package with the State Migration Service and arrange appointments and submission. Service members must still attend in person for stages that require their presence, such as photographs, biometric data or signatures, and they must collect the finished permit in person. The procedure is intended to reduce the administrative burden without creating automatic residence rights.
