EU Ukraine Support Loan Pays €1.24B for Ukrainian-Made Drones and Missiles
The European Commission disbursed €1.24 billion to Ukraine on October 7 to finance domestically manufactured drones, interceptor drones, drone ammunition and missiles. The payment comes from the defence component of the €90 billion Ukraine Support Loan covering 2026 and 2027, rather than representing the full value of that loan. Its indicative allocation divides €60 billion toward defence and €30 billion toward budget support, with Ukrainian production eligible for the current defence payment. The release adds financing for specific weapons categories and industrial output within Ukraine, linking the loan's defence funding to purchases from Ukrainian manufacturers.
